The wave of change
Do we use a water level indicator to prevent overflow of water?
Do our homes have a rain water harvesting plant?
Do we have saplings and water them daily?
Do we walk on the footpath or on the road? Do we drive on the footpath or on the road?
Do we use the indicators in the vehicle while taking left or right turn? Do we use hand signals to halt or while taking U turn?
How many of we do really care? It’s a let go attitude. Others are not doing it, why we! is the attitude. But people forget that we are one among that “others”, as we are others to others.
Do we turn off the lights and fans while leaving the room? Turn of the TV, AC, Oven? Unplug them? Naaaaaaaaah how many of us do it! If we don’t care, who will care?
We often hear people talking that, as the group does, so do I. Why follow the blind queue? Break the queue and leave a trail. A saying goes like this: what if the world is against me and I alone? Just turn to the opposite direction, and lead the group. That it! Many people get into the “Group effect”, which makes people do what they may actually not do individually, or what they cant do or what they don’t want to do.
How many of us wait for others to do and follow later? Do we wait for the neighbor to buy a Honda or Mercedes or a blackberry? We buy it and they envy us. Why not do the same here? Being ignorant and acting ignorant has a major difference, and one major difference is not acting which is equivalent to crime.
One of my professors told me the difference between an Educated and a literate. Now I can show him a whole lot of people. One who knows is a literate, but only he who acts on it is educated, as he is the real one who can take right decisions about what to be done, why, how, for whom etc.
I still have a strong feeling that sooner this will happen and people are more responsible from their side and do what has to be done and not what must not be!

Vijayadashami speech – P.P. Sarsanghchalakji
Vijayadashami speech – P.P.
Sarsanghchalakji (
Today is the auspicious day of ‘Ayudha
Pooja’ (Weapon worship) and tomorrow is Vijayadashami, the Foundation Day of
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Tomorrow the R.S.S. will complete its 82nd
year and will enter the 83rd. When we try to evaluate the result of
more than eight decades of efforts, one thing comes out outstandingly. When in
1925 the Sangh was founded, the Hindu society had descended to such an abyss of
self-negation that they were ashamed of calling themselves as Hindus. ‘Call us
donkeys, but don’t call us Hindus’. Today however the Hindu has become
conscious of his identity, he does not feel any inhibition in calling himself a
Hindu. We have experienced this last year when the leaders of different
caste-groups not only assembled together on the invitation of the Sangh but
felt happy that it was because of Sangh that they had been able to meet
different caste leaders, exchanged our thoughts and could partake food collectively
without any destinetion of high or low. They expressed the desire that such
programmes should be organised in future also. In the intellectuals meet also
several intellectuals participated and pondered over the internal problems of
the Hindu society, the external threats and how to mitigate them. Large Hindu
congregations were organised at the district and block levels.
But the Sangh is not satisfied with
only this much. Sangh wants that not only the Hindu society should be vigilant
and full of self-respect but should be able to face all types of onslaughts
perpetrated on it. We shall have to work harder to bring about that preparedness
in the society. Today, though the Hindu society does feel that it is being targeted
but expects somebody to take the lead. This situation should change. The people
in every village and every ward should rise in protest, even if in small
groups, against any injustice perpetrated on the Hindu society. The effect of
such protest we have witnessed on 12th Sept. when people blocked the
traffic between
Just as the society is awakening, onslaughts are also increasing as if to test
its mettle. Hence eternal vigilance has become unavoidable. We have to follow the message of Vedas
–‘Rashtre jagryam wayam’ – ‘Let the nation be ever vigilant.’
The case of Ramasetu has been given an
interim stay by the Supreme Court. We must not dupe ourselves to think that the
threat to Ramasetu has vanished. The Central Shipping Minister Shri T.R.Balu is
still saying that he will try to get the stay vacated and complete the task of
Setu samudram canal by the end of December. Recently on 17th Oct.
addressing a joint press meet in Chennai CPI-M state general secretary and CPI
state secretary condemning the Centre for ‘yielding to the pressure of communal
forces’, demanded to know why the Centre had sought three months time in the
Supreme Court and agreed to consider an alternate alignment. “Why is the Union
Govt. not firm in carrying out the project on the present alignment?” They
said, other alignments were not acceptable since they would affect marine
ecology and the livelihood of fishermen and the fishermen should be protected.
The reality, however, is that under
the pressure of Leftists the Central Govt. submitted an affidavit in the
Supreme Court in which they claimed that Ram did not exist at all. This deeply
hurt the sentiments of crores of Hindus living in Bharat, as also all over the
world. This was denying their very identity. Erstwhile socialist leader late
Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia, whom even the pseudo-secularist can’t accuse of being
narrow-minded or retrogressive, had in a famous speech said that Rama connected
North to South,
and Shiva is existing everywhere showering his blessings.
Those who question the historicity of Shri
Rama, should take a lesson from the discoveries of Dr. Ramavatar Sharma, who
spent 24 years of his life in personally visiting 214 places where Rama had
stayed during the 14 years he spent in forests as also 23 places where Rama had
gone with Sage Vishwamitra upto Janakpur. He has photographed all those
temples, lakes, rivers, ghats, huts etc. where Shri Rama treaded and also
prepared a map of them all. The great effort put in by Dr. Ramavatar is a slap
on the face of all those who are denying the very existence of Shri Rama. What
type of democratic set-up we are living in where the Central Cabinet Minister
Shri Balu and Chief Minister of Tamilnadu are brazenly flouting the public
opinion as also the opinions of scientists, astronomers, archeologists,
geologists, environmentalists who are giving evidences of Rama’s existence?
What right has such a minister to be in the Central Cabinet?
But Prime Minister Manmohan Singh very
well knows that if the D.M.K. withdraws its support then the government will
fall. Till now the Communists were pressurising the Govt. not to proceed with
the nuclear – deal, and, succumbing to that pressure the Prime Minister
postponed it till 2009. Now if Shri T.R.Balu and Karunanidhi of the D.M.K.
exert their pressure to give a green signal to the SSC Project, will the P.M.,
riding rough-shod over the sentiments of crores of people, permit the breaking
of the Rama Setu? If he is a devout Sikh, will he ponder over the ‘Shabad’ of
Guru Nanakdeo in the Holy Guru Granth Sahib( page 942). Raga Ramakali in
chapter ‘Siddha Gashta’ which says –
“The Almighty has enabled all
‘Gurumukhs’ to reach their destination by walking on the ‘Name-bridge’. This
name-bridge was instrumental in the loot of Lanka and all the demons of Lust, anger
etc. became powerless and full of agony Gurumukh Ramcnandra killed Ravan in the
form of ego and passing secrets by Vibhishan is nothing but his becoming
knowledgeable by becoming to Gurmukh. The living beings in the form of boulders
will also float across the worldly sea and many Gurmukh people have already
attained salvation.” There are two words in the Sikh Religion- Gurmukh and
manmukha. Gurmukh means those who are beholden to God or Dharma and Manmukha
means those who act according to their own whims and fancies.
It is a truth that the Sikhs worship
the formless but Shri Guru Nanakdeo does not deny the forms also. He says –
‘You
are with and without forms, You are with attributes and without attributes, You
are One but You are many also’.
This Whole creation is nothing but the
manifestation of that Supreme Being. Therefore Guru Nanakdeo explaining the
Unmanifest with the help of the manifest has taken recourse to Rama’s story in
the above ‘Shabad’. Guru Nanakdeo travelled throughout the country as also abroad.
In his journey to the South he went to Rameshwaram also. On page 146 of
‘Twarikh Khalsa’, the authoritative account of his journeys by Giani Gian Singh,
it is written –‘The
of
situated in an area of one ‘murabba’ (about 25 acres) where Shri Ramchandraji
had consecrated the idol of Mahadeva’.
Guru Gobind Singhji himself in his
composition ‘Sarabloh’ on page 905 says-“Lord Rama ordered Nala and Sugreeva to
summon all his warriors and begin the construction of the bridge. Immediately
hordes of ‘monkeys’ began to construct the bridge by bringing boulders from
uprooting trees and throwing them into the sea.”
The question arises why in the case of
all these facts Shri Karunanidhi and Shri Balu are adamant in constructing the
canal by breaching the Rama Setu? Their argument is that today the distance
between Tutukudi and Chennai by going round Shri Lanka is 750 nautical miles
which requires 62.5 hours to traverse. If this canal is constructed the
distance will only be 310 nautical miles which could be traversed in 25.8 hours
thus saving 36.7 hours of journey. But marine experts say that the speed
through the canal will be reduced to 6 nautical miles instead of 12-13 nm. in
the open sea. Therefore the time saving will only be 29.75 hours. But embarking
disembarking will take another two hours and hence the net time-saving will be
only 27.75 hours. The claim that this will be cost-effective has been disproved
by Captain H. Balakrishnan. His calculation says-
(1) Kolkata to Tutukudi
(a) Circumnavigating Shri Lanka – Rs. 19,49,925.00
(Nineteen lakhs forty nine thousand nine hundred and twenty five)
(b) Through the SS Canal – Rs. 19,51,126.00 (Nineteen
lakhs fifty one thousand one hundred and twenty six)
(2) Chennai to Tutukudi
(a) Circumnavigating Shri Lanka – Rs. 13,25,405.00 (
Thirteen lakhs twenty five
thousand four hundred and five)
(b) Through the SS Canal – Rs. 14,51,260.00 (Fourteen
lakhs fifty one thousand two hundred and sixty)
Then why this adamant attitude? The reason is,
influence over the
military base in Diago Garcia. The
Street
exist in between Bharat and Shri Lanka. They form the historical waters between
the two countries over which only they have their jurisdiction. On 23rd
March they signed an agreement through which they decided over a line to act as
the boundary line between the two countries. But on
refused to accept these as the historical waters. On
Warship Nimitz came to the Chennai sea port. When there was an opposition to
its presence, the naval officer on the ship convened a press meet and declared
before the media that the waters between Bharat and Shri Lanka are
International waters. This exposes the intention of

the matter of SSCP only because it is going to benefit
These stooges of
nation-wreckers, are the least concerned about the great damage that the SSCP
is going to inflict on our country.
* Telis, a scientist belonging to the
famous Carneigi Institute of Research in Defence affairs has opined after a
deep study that Bharat possesses the largest stock of Thorium in the world
which can fulfill her energy requirements for a long time to come. Thorium is
the rare earth which is luminous as also slatish in colour. When heated in air
it emits bluish light. It is named after Thor, the war-god of
Dr. A.P.J.Abdul Kalam, ex-President of Bharat has opined –‘The stock of uranium
is very limited in Bharat and hence we are required to go into agreements with
all sorts of people for its supply. Bharat has the largest stock of Thorium and
hence we should concentrate more on getting our energy based on Thorium.’
* Bhartiya scientists are enged in
inventing a reactor based on Thorium fuel. Experiments are being conducted in
Bhabha Atomic Research Centre at Mumbai. Shri K.V.Jayarama, a research
scientist in
has said that of the 11 lakhs tons of high quality Thorium available in the
world, 31% has been found to be deposited on the sea shores of Bharat only.
* The sea-waves in the
after bouncing from the Rama Setu, create counter currents which push the
rare-earth metals towards the shores of Bharat and Thorium is deposited in the
three adjacent villages in Kanyakumari. According to the Indian laws it can not
be exported without the permission of Central Government. But flouting all
those regulations some anti-social elements are engaged in exporting Thorium-rich
sands to foreign countries. It is being done in two ways – One is by direct
export of the sand. Another is by burying thick coconut ropes with a coating of
glue on them. When they reach the destination, the sand is removed from the
ropes. Those ropes are used for the ships. Who pockets the money is a matter
for through impartial probe. Shri M.D.Nalpat, Professor of geo-politics in
loss of Thorium entailed in breaching the Rama Setu will be a great blow to the
nuclear projects of our country.
* According to the Prof. C.S.P.Aiyar, managing director
for Centre for Marine Analytical Reference and Standards –“Saving the marine live-stock
in the
importance. Nowhere in the world except Rama Setu can we find 3600 species of
marine life at one place.” Tsunami expert Prof. Tad S. Murthy had said in Dec.
2005 –“It is because of Rama Setu that south Kerala coast was saved from the
disaster striking Bharat on
Dec. 2004
and Justice K.T.Thomas have publicly appealed to the Central Govt. to abandon
the SSCP. Justice K.T.Thomas says-“Things with which strong religious
sentiments and thousands of years old traditions are attached should not be
disturbed. Therefore it is my strong conviction that Shri Rama Setu should not
be breached and alternative routes should be considered. I have also heard that
Rama Setu had protected Indian shores, specially in Kerala, during the Tsunami
disaster.” And Justice Krishna Aiyar says –“I suspect that the haste with which
the project is proposed to be completed, ignoring the welfare and the progress
of the people of
be to further the interests of countries like
emergency message to our Hon. Prime Minister.”
* The NEERI report accepts that ‘200 out of 600
varieties of fishes are commercially important. There are 138 villages and
towns spread in 5 districts through the costal area from Gulf of Mannar to
occupation of 16 lakh fisher folks living along the coasts whose main
activities are – (1) fishing (2) seaweed collection (3) chunks collection with
which shell bangles and anklets are prepared (4) coral mining (5) firewood collection and (6) agriculture.
The fishermen are irked that they are allowed on the sea between
week. More than 50% of the fishermen in this area are in debt. If this project
is implemented socio-economic problems will multiply due to unemployment.’ Now
it is for you to decide as to who is telling the truth – Neeri scientists or
leftists leaders of Tamilnadu?
But the Communists are least concerned with all these
things. What is their record in
where they have been continuously ruling for the past 30 years? When they came
to power in1977 they declared with great fanfare that they would be
implementing insurance scheme for landless labourers. But the money collected
from them was not deposited with the Provident Fund Commissioner. Crores of
rupees collected on this account had been misappropriated by them. The number
of landless labourers in
73 lakhs. Among them only 9 lakhs were included in the above mentioned scheme.
63 lakhs were just ignored. This govt. has created another 24 lakhs landless
labourers in the past ten years by forcefully grabbing their lands. What can be
more disgraceful for the Govt. that between 7th August to mid
October, about 40 food riots have been taken place. And what is the reason? In
some of the districts rationed articles have not been distributed for the last
18 months and in some for the last 11 months. Ration dealers in collusion with
ministers, bureaucrats, district magistrates, block development officers,
legislators, rationing officers and distributors have sold out food-grains and
other materials in black market. Food-riots are practically a revolt against
the Left Front government and the most interesting part is that they are being
instigated by the members of the Left Front themselves.
The fiercest form of the bankrupt ideology of
Communism is appearing in the form of Maoist and Naxalite violence. Over 6000
people have been killed in just over a decade in different parts of Bharat. But
those who are at the helm of affairs think that their responsibility is over by
issuing a statement every time there is an incidence of violence and call it
the most barbaric and cowardly act. It is quite a rare occasion when any court
has convicted and sentenced a terrorist. The case of Mohammad Afzal is a living
example. Even after the Supreme Court gave him death penalty, the Central
Cabinet recommended that the death sentence to be converted into life
imprisonment and sent it to the Delhi Government for approval. The
replied yet. In
the security forces were directed to abandon anti ULFA operations to create a
congenial atmosphere for peace talks. This was taken advantage of by ULFA who
regrouped themselves and became stronger. The success of the Maoists in
has encouraged the Naxalites in Bharat that they can also be successful. A
central leader of the CPM had gone to meet the terrorist leader Prachanda in
There is an adage in Hindi which means those who
deserve thrashing can not be brought to reason by mere talking. The weak-kneed
policy of the Central Govt. has only emboldened the demonic forces. European countries
like France, England etc. have enacted tough laws to deal with the terrorists
but our Government, running with the external support of the Communists has
repealed the POTA regulation, with the result that terrorism is raising its
head again. Recently in
explosion killing 6 and injuring 30 in a theatre where large number of
labourers from
picture in their own Bhojpuri language. The hand of Khalistanis is being
suspected. Before that on 1st September, a powerful bomb exploded in
the vegetable market in Guwahati by the ULFA terrorists. The toll was 2 killed
and 20 injured.
Not that only Hindus are being targeted. On 11th
October a bomb exploded in Ajmer Sharief after Roja Iftar killing 2 and
injuring 20. Before that also Samjhouta Express and the Mosques in
and , those who were killed and injured were Muslims only. And recently on 17th
October the traders who received parcels as presents were also Muslims.
Outwardly they appeared to be CD-players but inside them were 36 detonators
that had the capacity to cause immense damage within a radius of 200 meters.
This only proves the terrorists whether Hindus, Muslims or Christian or those
who claim to be followers of Sikh Gurus, are bereft of any religious values.
Scores of examples can be quoted but the question is whether the Government is
at all serious in takling the terrorists. If so, then they should enact tough
laws without loss of time.
There is one mere problem and that is appeasement of
the so called minorities. At the out set we should realise that to call
Muslims, Christians, Buddhists and Sikhs of our country as minorities is
nothing but an extension of the British policy of ‘divide and rule’. Minorities
are those who were uprooted in their own countries and took refuge in this country,
and, because they did not have any roots in this country, they might need
certain rights to protect their identity. That way, only the Jews and the
Parsees may be called minorities who came to Bharat two thousand and one
thousand years ago from
and
respectively. But when during the drafting of our constitution a proposal was
placed before them that because their number was so small that on their own
they could not get elected to either the Central or the State legislatures,
therefore, some seats could be reserved for them to be filled by nomination.
The leaders of both the communities flatly refused and said they did not need
any reservations and that they were quite happy with the national society. In
no other country did we get such a considerate treatment as we got here. And we
see that they did not suffer any disability what so ever. Our two Generals,
Gen. Jacob and Gen. Manikshaw, one a Jew and the other a Parsee, brought
victory to our country during wars. Who can forget the role played by Dadabhai
Navaroji and Madame Cama during our freedom struggle or the contribution of
Jamasedji Nasarvan Tata in the industrial field?
This being the situation, how can the statement of our
Prime minister be justified that the minorities have the first claim on the
resources of our country? In giving compensation also to the families of those
killed, the Govt. perpetrates discrimination. For the Pakistanis killed in
Samjhouta express explosions, the compensation given was 10 lakhs per person,
for the Muslims killed in Malegaon, Hyderabad etc. it was 5 lakhs per person
whereas for those Hindus who were killed in Mumbai explosions the compensation
was two lakhs, meaning thereby that the lives of Hindus are cheaper than those
of the so called minorities. The Leftist Government in West Bengal, with their
eyes on the fourth coming panchayat elections, has declared that 30% of the
budgetary allocation will be earmarked for the minorities, they will be trained
at government expenses for recruitment in the Police force in large numbers,
new minority schools will be established and a lenient view will be taken about
the madarsas. Is this not a crass appeasement of the minorities and
discrimination of the worst order? The so called minorities in
are Muslims. Of the 50 Muslim majority districts in the country, 12 belong to
the
there are the recommendations of the Sacchar Committee which recommends
reservation of seats in institutions of higher education. Is this not a
shameful example of minority appeasement? On the other hand, those who are
converted to either Christianity or Islam from Scheduled castes, scheduled
tribes and other backward communities have started demanding reservations for
them in the government services. Is it not an encroachment on the privileges of
the SCs, STs and OBCs of the Hindu society?
It should be remembered that the demand that the
provisions of reservations for the SCs, STs and OBCs as enshrined in the
Constitution, should be extended to the Christian and Muslim converts also, has
been rejected by the Supreme Court in a number of public interest litigations.
It has held that the reservation policy has been adopted to remove the social
disability inflicted because of the caste-system prevailing in the Hindu
society. Any Hindu converted to either Islam or Christianity is thrown out of
the caste system. To covert a man to their faith the Christian fathers take
recourse to the plea that there is no caste discrimination in the Christian
society. Will the church leaders, before demanding reservation for Dalit
Christians, declare that they do have caste discrimination in their society?
From the regulation of the Government of India 1935 to Scheduled caste Scheduled
Tribe regulation, 1950 and the orders promulgated from time to time afterwards
also are very clear about this point. This matter was thoroughly discussed by
our Constitution makers and they had rejected the extension of privileges to
converts. In 1936 also the British Government has rejected the demand for
reservation for converted Christians.
If this demand for reservation for converts is
accepted then most of the reservations will be cornered by them with the help
of enormous foreign funds being pumped into our country from abroad. The
greatest obstacle experienced by the Christian missionaries and Muslim moulavis
in their task of proselytisation will be removed and the pace of conversion
will enormously increase, creating problems for the unity and integrity of our
Nation. The leaders and public representatives of SCs and STs should realise
this danger and see through their hidden game plan and come forward to thwart
their mischief. In addition to that those of them who have come above the
poverty line should come forward to renounce those privileges for themselves
and their dependents so that their brethren who are still below the poverty
line may get the benefit of reservations, Reservation after all is akin to
crutches which are taken recourse to when due to some accident we begin to
limp. Once the disability is removed the crutches are discarded.
On the Economic front the sensex reached the 19000
mark recently. This was taken to be a measure of our economic progress and they
patted their backs. But all this is being maneuvered with help of foreign
funds. The money of terrorists and of those engaged in narcotics trade is also
playing its role. This money was pumped into our economy in the name of ‘Participatory
Fund’. The Reserve Bank of
got concerned about it and imposed a restriction on further flow of foreign
investment into the above fund and has ordered that in the next 18 months the
remaining foreign investment should be completely exhausted. The result is, the
sensex has started falling.
Actually the initial mistake was committed when the
first Prime Minister of our country Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, disregarding the
advice of Mahatma Gandhi to make villages the centre-point of our economic planning,
made the country tread the western path of development. The western developmental
path is centralised, high energy consumptive, capital intensive, labour
displacing and eco-distructive. The path suggested by Mahatma Gandhi was
de-centralised, low energy consumptive, using small capital, labour-intensive
and eco-friendly. Today in the West itself, renowned scholars looking into the
future, have started challenging the present developmental path. They have
warned that if tinkering with environment is not stopped, the very existence of
mankind will be jeopardised. A competition is on to dominate the world markets
and towards that end stockpiles of weapons of mass-destruction have been
created. The whole world appears to be on the brink of world-war. One spark is
sufficient to trigger off the third world war which may take a tall of 200
crore people with immense damage to environment. Bharat will also be affected
because of
But the task of giving the message of peace to the world in future will have to
be done by Bharat only because it alone possesses the spiritual philosophy
which says that the same Atman, the Ultimate Reality is pervading the Whole
Universe, whether men and animals, trees and plants, worms and flying
creatures. It is because of this that Bharat can declare –
Sarve
bhavantu sukhinaha
Sarve santu
niramayaha
Sarve
bhadrani pashantu
Ma kashchit
dukkhabhaga bhavet.
“Let
everybody be hale and hearty, let everybody enjoy all good things in life and
let nobody experience any pain.”
For that, however, the Hindu society will have to
become consolidated and strong by rising above all sorts of differences.
Fortunately we are getting some good indications also. We all know that the
Britishers followed the ‘divide and rule’ policy to fulfill their imperialistic
objectives and with that end in view they divided the society into Aryans and
Dravidians, aboriginals and immigrants, Brahmins and non-Brahmins, touchables
and un-touchables etc. It is unfortunate that even after 60 years of our
wrong history is being taught to us. Swami Vivekananda said before an audience
in the
was drawing to a close-“Do not believe such silly things as there was a race of
mankind in South India called the Dravidians who were black, differing widely
from one race in
were bright. Not knowing where the Aryans can from of late there was an attempt
to prove,” he laughed and said, “Aryans lived on the Swiss lakes.” This theory
which was trotted out in the name of Max Muller, has obsessed the Indian mind
since then, so much so, that we are unwittingly call our brothers living in
forests as ‘adivasis’ i.e. aboriginals, there by lending credence to the theory
that we came from outside.
Weeks back the BBC website came out with the startling
disclosure that –“there is now ample evidence to show that Max Mullar and those
who followed him were wrong. Modern historians of the area no longer believe
that such invasions had such great influence on Indian history. It is generally
accepted that Indian history shows a continuity of progress from the earliest
times to today.”
Recently on
on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples’ was adopted by the United Nations General
Assembly. A group was working on it since 1982 and the final draft was first
adopted in U.N. Security Council and then adopted by the General Assembly. 143
countries voted in favour and four against with 11 abstaining. Those who voted
against were
Zealand
Council in an explanation of vote before the vote, the Indian representative
Ajeya Malhotra said ‘
has been consistently favouring the rights of indigenous peoples. With regards to
the right of self determinations this is understood to apply only to peoples
under foreign domination and not to a nation of indigenous persons.’
When I told the same thing in a programme at
day the church-inspired organisations opposed it. They did dub the R.S.S. as
communal but also indicted the Central Government that it was out to curb their
rights. Be it so. Our national mainstream of Bharat has been flowing since the
hoary past in which so many streams and rivulets had been mingling acquiring
holiness the same way the waters flowing into the
are purified. Keeping intact the purity of our national stream we have to
gather strength to purify the whole world.
So many scholars of our country are today engaged in
unravelling the true history of our country with the help of literary and
archaeological proofs. The most important discovery is that of vanished river
Sarswati. The NASA pictures first of all gave evidenee of the underground
Saraswati flowing from Shivalik ranges in the Himalayas to Gulf of Cambay in
Pingle made a month-long journey from Shivalik to Cambay accompanied by Dr.
V.S.Vakankar and many historians, geologists and literary people.
The earthenware pots, samples of under ground waters
and the folk-tales gathered in this journey enabled the scholars that the
mighty river Saraswati, described as ‘ambitame naditame’ (the great mother, the
great river), used to flow in so many streams through today’s western Rajsthan
and eastern Pakistan and joined the Gulf of the Cambay where the sea ports of
the Lothal and Dholavira were flourishing. Hundreds of the reamanants of towns
like Harppa and Mohonjodaro were found on the banks of the Saraswati. Till now
the Harappan civilization was considered to be pre-Aryan immigration. It was
during the time of the Mahabharat that the Saraswati began to vanish because of
tectonic upheawal in the glacier feeding the river. Because of that the stream
of the Saraswati got mingled in the Yamuna. It is because of this that at the
confluence of the three rivers
and Saraswati, Saraswati is said to invisible. Today the spot in Hariyana from
where the Saraswati originates, has been discovered and efforts are on the
receive the river. Today it has been made to flow upto Jagadhari in Hariyana.
This discovery of Saraswati together with other evidences has led to the fixing
of the date of Mahabharat war 5145 years from now. The war took place 36 years
before the beginning of Kali Era which has been fixed at 5109 years from now,
i.e. 3102 B.C. That also is the year of departure of Bhagwan Shrikrishna for
his heavenly abode. It is very sad to say that Dr. Swarajya Prakash Gupta, who
played a very important role in this matter, is no more with us today. But he
laid a firm foundation stone for rewritting Bharatiya history.
Our scientist has proved our eminence in different
fields of science. Of them the most important is Rishi-farming or Natuecho
farming. It is based on the postulation that nobody tills land or provides
manures and pesticides in the forests still the forests grow and flourish and
provide sustainance to all the living creatures along with human beings. Dr,
Dabholkar of the
based his experiments on this principle and attained success. Today he is no
more but inspired by him Deepak Suchade has proved in a place called Bajawada
near Nemawar and Harda in Madhya Pradesh, that in circle of 10 m. diameter a
family of 5 persons not only can enjoy full nutritious meals but can also earn

Scientist Shri Satishchadra of
of the Vedas that the Vedic suktas are nothing but descriptions of
technologies. He has been able, on that very basis, to tap electricity direct
from space. Shri Ravi Prakash Khemka of Chennai has manufactured powerhouses by
amalgamating solar energy with cell technology. Power house of 500 watts costs
Rs. 1 lakh and of 1 kilowatt 2 lakhs. No need to erect electric poles and draw
electric wires. Just fix a panel on the roof top and become care free for the
next 10 to 12 years. These are all positive developments. The only need is that
we have to discover our own capabilities. Let us stop looking towards others.
Let us discover our own capabilities and
have a firm determination. Lions do not
go to eat others’ prey. We have
creative power in one hand and destructive
in the other. All glow in the light of
glory whereas we glow in
darkness. Let there be dreams
of glorious future in our eyes and speed
of storms in our feet.
We challenge all to
stop this rising tide of national upsurge.

cutting of hairs:- hairs also don’t have sense organs that could detect the pain when they are trimmed. People were telling not to trim/cut hairs on certain days (like on Tuesday, Thursday…), and after afternoons. One important reason was, in those days black magic was very prevalent, so any witch if got hold of the hairs, could harm the person to any great extent. So the hairs must to be disposed carefully. In today’s scenario, hair cutting is done in saloons, and no such fear of black magic exists in the cities, though it still exists in small number in the country side. But more fascinating fact about the existence of black magic in the cities are becoming legal, and more appreciative, for the reason that they are now being used to cure some ailments and mental problems, than causing bad.
women must not recite vedic mantras:- though mata sarawati is the knowledge giver, women have the liberty to recite hymns of gods, but not Vedic hymns or mantras, the reason being this is a patriarch society, and women were house wives in those days. The scientific reason being that, the Vedic hymns are to be recited in their exact pattern, similar to the melodic pattern of any song. When any one recites the hymns, in its correct and exact form, it creates a form of vibration, that improves man in every sense, including mental, moral, physical, emotional and spiritually. But the paradox is that, if the women sing them, then it causes negative vibrations in them, which can reduce the very purpose of womanhood, and can cause unknown mental imbalance, reducing personal harmony in their environment. Not citing these reasons, or because of lack of communications from our ancestors, these values lost its value. Of these mantras, most important is OM and GAYATRI MANTRA. Women should never recite them, including any of the Vedic hymns, as these can cause a continuous change within the subtle inner self that’s difficult to identify quickly, but on a longer run can cause enough damage.
Sandhyavandana and prayers: - These are the daily offerings to the god, in-turn an exercise to all parts of our body, including our mind, body, and environment. In today’s world we are trying to ape the western world that was a little less in beliefs, but seeing our traditional values they are going in the path of god. They were a little atheist and now are turning theist, and we are leaving our traditions and saying that we have a great traditions. The traditions that our ancestors protected remains no longer a treasure unless it is maintained and followed. That goes rotting, and finally nothing other than it becoming a history. India is a great nation with very rich traditions. I don’t say don’t move forward, but not at the cost of pledging the traditions. It’s a huge tree that was sowed by our ancestors, so that it will bear good fruits in their future, and what are we doing, not watering the great tree, that has been rooted strong in our soil and allow it to dry, or allow others to cut a part of it and take and preserve it in a museum, or call ourselves careless or less capable? Had we been more capable and more cautious, we would not have allowed other university (mention that here ), to have a complete hold of our very own language SANKRIT, the first ever complete language, and the mother of all languages. We Indian should be really ashamed in this issue. We can still imbibe the traditional values in ourselves, than getting cursed by our own children and grandchildren that we neither protected environment, nor our traditions or the oldest language in the human history. Less save our traditions today, and see a silver lining that the Sanskrit university comes back to INDIA, and we be the proud learners of the great language and also preserve our great traditions. It’s really a pity state to know that many other nations are striving their best to preserve their small traditions, and we being so rich in it are turning it to rust, by our careless attitude.
days of period:- women when reaches puberty, women start their period days. In olden days, they were asked to stay isolated inside house, without even touching any things that were used daily. They dint have the freedom to dress new clothes, nor any makeup. The isolation was for 3 days. People were harsh about the rule. Scientifically the reason being that the women’ body becomes weak in the days of period, and also that they can be easily prone to any infections, virus. In those days, many deaths were caused by contagious diseases, or simply catch cold. Also this was forced strictly because in those days, kidnapping of women were very common and they could be harmed.
Its also a fact that in the days of period the production of protective hormones reduces and body becomes weak, and their resistance falls down.
Another reason that could have made this rule was that, in those days, women were forced to work either in their houses, or in any houses (free of cost, or for money), and for this reason, if a women could be strained and all her energy can drain out. For this reason, to give her some definite amount of rest, at least 1/10 of a month, that rule could have been made. In today’s world, the concept of getting isolated during the days of period is obsolete or traceless. Today’ women work outside, and can get strained due to her normal schedules, and the natural process drains her out even more, so some care should be taken by them.
traditions
A widow was asked to tonsure her head, no make-ups, and white Saree. This was the general attire that were enforces on a widow. By this, the girl, or the women did look ugly and horrible (to herself and also to her onlookers), and should not attract lustful men towards her. In this was a woman was protected. This was like a blessing in disguise. Though the treatments were harsh, the end result was that she was protected, although the lack of this meaning in a few people lead to disastrous suicides and reformation was needed. Reformation was needed badly not is starting widow remarriage, but in her protection. Also in those days kidnapping were very prevalent, so if a widow was made to look ugly, at least some kidnapping could be averted. That was also one of the reasons. The social atrocities was meaningless, but they were considered as inauspicious, for the reason (reason unexplainable and many) being she lost her husband quickly (or that her coming caused death of her husband).
Now we are seeing another part of widowhood. A sigh of relief (from widowhood and its curses), or freedom in life, or remarriage. We are seeing another case as seen in the west that how often people marry and divorce and remarry. They have literally killed the meaning of the auspiciousness of a marriage and have made it a child’s play. We have to hope that this doesn’t become a curse for the human being. After all marriages are solemnized in heaven and tie a knot here.
Not to go out during the nights of no moon: People feared going on no moon nights. Those days were when, there were many people who were practicing black magic and using it to do bad. Also it’s believed that, in the nights of no-moon, negative energy is more powerful. Also that, on a no-moon day, there was no trace of light those days, as electrification was not fully done everywhere. There are also many cases recorded of many people struck by witch craft. So for these reasons people were advised not to go at night
Usage if lemon:- Lemon is used both for good purpose and for bad purpose. People in the past gave animal sacrifices to the deities. Later either because of the reason that the animal population reduced or that an alternate type of sacrifice was thought of. Not just lemon, along with it, either vermilion or any natural die that represented red color was used as alternate things of sacrifice. The pretatma or any such evil spirits like blood or blood colored dresses, or things that are red. So there are instances where people were attacked by the evil spirits when some people wore red dresses, or things that were red. So, blood of animals was sacrificed to appease them. Also it’s that, a lemon has the power of concentrating powers, either to do more negative or to negate the negative to do good. So lemon was used to appease the gods, or to put the negative powers to sleep. Similar to this is the use of pumpkin.

Traditions and beliefs
Traditions are the beliefs or custom that flows down from generations to generations. It can also be called as the long established procedures that flow in the lineage. The traditional values were those that were followed with great respect and fear of blasphemy. There are examples in the history that has created sweet memories as well as agony. There are examples that have stood the testing times to stand the devastation of the nature, also there are examples that has taken the traditions to their advantage and created a pain the minds of the people.
Traditions are nice, if they create a value to us, give us a satisfaction in life and help us achieve, whereas it can be a bane if it makes the lives miserable.
Traditions that created pain: widowhood, child marriage, sati
Traditions that has sweet memories: pregnancy,
The traditions were like the pride treasure that were carried, and some misinterpreted, and some were misused.
Today, we can see the ancient palaces, and mahals that adored the traditions to everything. Today we feel that we are missing the beauty that lied in the rich traditions that our ancestors carried with them to every nook and corner of the country. But only those people knew the pain in maintaining the traditions and the punishment that were given to those people who led themselves / others from the traditions. They were given a lot of praise for maintaining a good traditions, also punished harshly for sacrificing it.
We can take the example of the palaces / mahals of Rajasthan in the north to the vijayanagar empire in the south, to
coming to the present days, where the major link to the old traditions are lost, and has implemented what they learnt, or thought to be right, or being that influenced by the environment. There are only a few traditions that have its strong foundation with science, and many that can be categorized as a belief (blind belief). Generally the blind belief goes hand in hand with some of the traditions. The reason being that the link being broken between those intelligent people who sow the seeds of traditions had a correct reason and good intension behind it. in the next part, where, these people couldn’t effectively transfer the knowledge they had in this direction, made some less intelligent people to take the things in the direction they thought was right, or that suited them in some situations or in their environment. Traditions should always be a cream to enjoy, not indigestible oil. An example to these shall be discussed here below. The simplest of the traditions that can be seen even today in some houses or families is bowing to the elders & parent, every morning, or at least on some special occasions. The traditions vary from family to family, to, clan to clan, to, individual. People in the some parts of
The tradition says to fast food during worshiping. It doesn’t mean that if the person is traveling or ill has to follow all the traditions. in today' world that may not seem very apt. we have to see that broken bridge is restored, not to demolish it. Tradition is like a knife. So beautiful to look, so sharp, that if not used can cut us, or can harm others, cuts if we are careless or the beholder of the knife. Also, we must not force any traditions to others. An example to this that, as we see in the present day' the chain messages that are sent saying that, u recite a hymn, and send it to 10 people, 100 people and so on. Due to fear of fate, or of the supreme almighty, they circulate. The main intention behind these messages may be over, but may still go on and on. One must see if the traditions or the traditional values are apt, and meaningful. a clear mind has to be given to it, or an elderly wise and knowledgeable person must be approached. There are several instances that the fear of loosing traditions could have made them take hasty decision and the result being that many suffer from it, or that to retain their prestige, they take a decision in the name of traditions that can cause damage in the hearts of many people that can go even to years.
Some people tried day in and day out to abolish the widowhood. Their reason to it could be the torture that were given to the widows, the miserable lives that they lived, and so on. The widows should tonsure their head, wear white dress, they were considered as a bane to the society, and were seen as a bad omen, which was the reason for the death of her husband. But our elders did all these with a strong reason and a projection of the future. A widow did not have the right to come to the public so easily, nor dress well, tonsure their head and so on. The reason behind all these was that the wife should not marry again, and lead to population explosion. As is, in those days a family had at least 6 children, and remarry could increase the population. but the tragedy is that they were treated as inauspicious, and more torture were give, which made the social reformers in that direction, whereas the crux of these were not dealt correctly.
there are several insights about the wrong decisions that were taken by our elders and a wrong notion was given to it, and changed to something that dint actually give a good judgment to it, which might have solved the problem, but in turn created problems multi fold. History has evidence to all this, ans if this continues, shall not only ruin traditions, but also the true belie that could have been saved. Because of the wrong judgment of a few, mass are suffered.
1. Cow dung: Olden day’s tradition was to clean the house, front of the house, and in many cases the flooring was of cow dung. Strange are the reasons, but very scientific to these. First of all, cows were and even today n also in future cows will be considered as holy, religious, and pious. It is called as kamdhenu, means in a sense that all products of the cow are very useful, starting from milk, dung for biogas, and cow dung cake for burning, holy powder or vibhuti, urine that has many medicinal properties that can cure many diseases, and so on. The dung has is endothermic in nature, so it produces good heat. Another most fascinating point about the cow dung is that, it is used to clean the floor in the houses in the early times. The reason was that, it can create the required warmth during the winter season, and coolness during the summer season. More over it has a fine property to prevent the spread of bacteria and similar micro-organisms. This is also used sometimes during the worshiping in some festivals. off late its a positive gesture to produce alternate forms of energy, now possible to charge a AA battery (on a small scale), can become one of the prime power sources.
2. Offerings to the priests: traditions of offering the first food to the priests & then to the guests, & then to his family members. This is because traditionally we consider guest and priests as godly. The priests are knowledgeable people & powerhouse of goodness and positive energy. So, by worshipping such superpower, who is like the alter ego of god, we get benefit out of it. Those who belong to upper class cant be considered as supreme just because they are from an upper class. They should be supreme in things they do, supreme in thinking, supreme in actions, supreme in decisions, supreme in all respects. Only then he is a superior human being. Its like a sword that’s not used for long time gets rusted. So, if we are not supreme in our thoughts, we don’t belong to a superior class. A priest satisfied in every sense, blesses the performer of prayer or puja. They have lots of positive energy within them. So by getting blessed by them, we also get the positive energy that improves our virtues.
3. Tradition of feeding the animals and nature worshipping:- in ancient times the nature was the ultimatum. Nature was worshipped by all. All parts of nature were worshipped, that includes sun, water, fire, tree, animals and so on. This was basically done as a reciprocal thanks-giving to the nature and its parts. These kinds of occasions were used by people to feed the animals, and the other parts of nature. Also this was an indirect link to the protection given by nature to man.
4. Direction to sleep:- people say not to sleep in north or south direction. The reason they state is that, lord GANESHA got his elephant head from an elephant that was in north direction. So don’t sleep in the north direction, and south is the place of YAMA, the god of death. So don’t sleep in the north of south direction. Scientific reason being that, the north or south has magnetic forces.

PRAYER

This is a form of expression of the mind, where he / she remembers or marks the desire or makes a notes to do it in future. A prayer is one, where a person concentrates or meditates to a diety (or the supreme almighty), who could be in the form of an idol, or be it the mother nature, or to an omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient power, or the powerful innerself. The end result is that the desires are fulfilled, be it good or bad. If done in an effective manner following all the procedures, all can happen very effectively, but the fact is that one who does prayer for good, reaps for long, and one who does for wrong and bad intentions lasts short, and they are less respected. A prayer is a 1 to 1 appointment with god. It’s a very personal talk with the one whom they feel secure and in-turn fulfill their desires. A prayer is nothing but, if said scientifically is to create a very desired kind of vibration to complete the task or desired wishes, be it good or bad, as positive vibrations are necessary for good work and negative vibrations for bad work. There are various kinds of prayers, as said above, some people do idol worship, scientifically which is a source of vibration, that keeps radiating to everyone that’s around it. By doing these kind of prayers, the vibration levels are raised, here it could be to specific god / deities. Another is, a prayer where there is no idol worship. Here the devotee keeps an unseen almighty all the powers. Here it can be to any god. In a prayer, one expresses his desires, confessions, wishes, to the welfare of the mass. Prayer can be as simple as a salutation, or recitation of simple slokas or hymns, to performing vedic rituals or homas in a very pious manner.
Our ancestors worshipped nature, as they felt that the nature has all the necessary things for man, like the air we breathe, fire that cooks food, water we drink. Land that gives us the shelter atmosphere that houses all gases that’s necessary to sustain life.
Since ages, a very strict regime or rule is maintains to do prayers, the reason being taking bath, makes us clean and our mind and soul is fresh to concentrate on prayer, as body along with mind is one of the medium to reach the god; wearing neat and clean clothes that are comfortable, to some extent ; then a silent environment to concentrate ; a calm and free mind and no evil desires to get the best results of the prayers are done for self, and sometimes for others, can be on behalf of others, or to do good or bad to others. Prayers if done well, reaches the almighty (scientifically raises our vibration level thus raising the mental, physical and spiritual levels).
All the above factors seems to be so trivial these days, but all have very evident and strong reasons that’s hidden under the thick blanket of unexplained and unexplored scientific knowledge. The reason being, if done in particular direction, time of the day, day of the week and month, and in the correct month and the correct century, it evolves more effective, as this also has a link with the alighment of the planets, which majorly monitors the state of affairs (ssthithi-gathi) of every living being. It depends on the person (male or female), as there are some prayers that if done by females (like gayatri matra, or
Man, off late has not realized the effectiveness of prayer. In fact its a strange truth that by doing prayers can lead to good digestion of all kinds of food in our body, to an extent it has the power to burn the bones also. Prayers cause real miracles.
Prayers can not only do that, but also helps to flex muscles of the body, increase memory. But one thing that has to be kept in mind is that, it has to be pronounced in the correct way it should be done, else it either becomes ineffective or useless, or even become negatively dangerous. They could do nothing there are evidences of the ghosts, preta, pishachi, mohini, dhakini… that has extreme powers that no man can possess at any time. But the prayers can put them to silence, to an extent that they could do nothing. That’s the power of a prayer. prayers can even spell rain. Scientifically this is called cloud seeding that the scientists do to spell rain in a rain starved area. The ingredients that goes into the prayer induces the environment to rain. Sages in the past had all these powers and had the privilege to display in times when nature had its aggression on the anthropoids. Going farther back, to times of rama (tretayuga) and Krishna (dwapara yuga), or even before to krutyuga, these days prayers causeda lot of welfare to people be it when deamons attacked devas (god) and hid in the ocean, sage agaystya drank the entire ocean, and the deamons were killed, or bhageeratha who with his prayers brought down the great ganges , or be it ravana, who lifted the mighty Himalayas along with shiva and parvati ;on the other-hand it was deamon guru shuklacharya, who with his prayer got a boon to bring alive all the dead deamons, or be it kumbhakarna, or bhasmasura, or mahishasura, or ashwathama who tried ending the linage of the pandavas.
Even to this day, both are evident and the bad one is called as black magic.
It all recides in us, how we use the prayers, be it negative or positive.
Elders say at least if not possible to recite the prayers listening to it or reading it blesses everyone.
Why is the prayer so simple at one end, and exemplary at the other end? The reason being, to cater to the economically weaker section, and the rich people. Simple prayers indulge just a salutation or with some incense sticks and camphor and lightening the lamps and offering flowers, and a coconut and prasadams, to the other extent of doing homas, where offering are done to the holy fire god. Prayers can extend from few minutes to few hours to days or even months, depending on its effect. Off-late people are recognizing the positive effects of prayers and are trying to understand it scientifically. The prayers are a form that expresses the mind of the devotee. Sometimes the prayers are preformed with kalashas, which is like the power house of god, and also doing abbhishekas.
At the end of the prayer, prasada is offered, in the form of thirtha (holy water), prasadams (solid food). Flowers … these when seen scientifically says that the abhisheka performed on the gods , which are made of metal, or in some specific stones water, milk, curds, honey… result in a homogenous mixture that is overall good for the body, that’s not only has milk, curds, honey, water plus ingredients of those metals, or stones that’s beneficial to the human being. Now coming to the recitation of the prayer, in an exact form, leads to the flexing of the muscles, both internal and external organs leading to an overall development. In a plain sense, a prayer is a form of meditation or concentration, where we forget our external business worls and involve in ourself. Actually a prayer is not only intended to god, but also to ourselves, and point out good and bad. It’s the time where we tell our problems, which needs solution actually very few do the other half, of finding the solution to it. When we know the problem, a solution has to be found out. There are some, who does all those and finally then come to god to find the answer.
Off late its found that the doctors, who were believed to have more self-belief than on god, are praying that the operation be successful, and in a sense are raising their confidence in an unknown way and saying I can do it.
A prayer in its basic meaning is to make man submissive, telling that there is one who is more superior to you, that’s almighty. And he has super powers. This keeps man powerful in himself, contained in himself, and not being over possessive of his powers.
After a prayer food should be server, or offered to others, be it in form of little prasadam, or feasting them, in a sense as it has induced hunger in them in the course of the prayer. The negative vibrations can not only cause self harm, but also harm others. You ca personally feel the difference of a place that was overdone with prayer to do good, and that place where prayers were done to do bad, like the temple and holy shrines being the source of positive energy, and graveyard and sacrifice places have a gory look. Prayer that is done just to remember the god, can be done at any point of time, day or year. This reduces the pain that one has physically, or mentally, or morally or spiritually.
Last but not the least, it’s in the minds of the person who does the prayer, whether he is doing it for good, or for the bad.
